Valdez was a
bit of a disappointment due more to the weather than anything else. It was foggy and rainy all night and into the
morning. We didn't get to clear skies
until we reached the Glen Allen Highway.
It was 296 miles from Valdez to Anchorage. We arrived at Fred Myers in Eagle River for
fuel and groceries around 1:00 PM and got to the campground about 2:30 PM. We were still cleaning and doing wash at 5:00
PM feeling a road weary. Pictures from
today:

The Glen
Allen Road that goes along the Chugach Mountains was prettier than the
Richardson Highway down to Valdez. Maybe
if the weather had been better we would feel differently.
After setting
up camp, doing laundry and resting up, we went to our son's home and met our Grandson
Jackson Henry. He is almost 2 months old
and is beginning to smile, focus on objects, and respond to things around him. I love holding our grandson.
We spent the next
day doing cleaning the car and RV and visiting more with Jackson Henry. Spending time with the kids and Jackson is what
we will be focusing on over the next week so there won't be any more posts until
we are well on our way home.
